“For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes SEEDS to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.” Isaiah 61:11 (NIV)
It was April 8, 1981 when seven (7) believers gathered together for a Bible Study at the Landingin’s residence in 10th Ave. Caloocan City. These were Sis. Gina Alcomendras, Sis. Epifania Landingin (deceased), Sis. Jenny Jimenez, Sis. Neneng de Leon, Sis. Dianing de Leon (deceased), Bro. Tobal de Leon (deceased) and Bro. Tereso Pachica. This Bible Study group led by Sis. Gina was conducted once every week. It grew through God’s guidance. Sis. Gina at a very young age (17 yrs old), a Management & Industrial Engineering student then at Mapua Institute of Technology, unselfishly responded to the challenge in leading the growing congregation to the path of the Lord.
As the attendees grew in number, they decided to hold another fellowship meeting every Saturday night to accommodate more people in the Landingin’s residence. A substantial number of young people were added which paved the way in forming a choir. Sis. Gina Landingin and Sis. Gloria Gloria (now Salazar, a USA resident) also led the choir. They named it Seeds of Yehoshuah Choir. Part of the ministry of the choir is to render choral number once a month to the Rich Ministry headed by Bro. Gonzalo Cruz (deceased). This was a Charismatic fellowship where Sis. Gina first attended and heard the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As the Holy Spirit divinely directed the ministry and more souls were ushered in the kingdom of God, the need for conducting a Sunday Worship Service became inevitable and later on it was decided to be incorporated in theSecurities Exchange Commission (SEC) with the name, “Seeds of Yehoshuah Full Gospel Ministries, Inc.” The ministry further expanded to other three outreaches in the areas of San Simon, Dalandanan, Valenzuela City; Fort Bonifacio, Makati City (later transferred to Taguig) and 11th Avenue, Caloocan City. The outreaches of the latter were conducted in the residence of the members namely Sis Asiang Paragas, Sis. Neria Abille, and Sis. Lydia Boon, respectively. Although outreaches in San Simon & 11th Ave. did not continue for long, most of the members remained active members of the church.
The Lord had other plans for Sis. Gina Landingin that led her go to the United States. God answered our prayers in April 1985 seven (7) months before Sis. Gina left for the States, when a dynamic man of God, Rev. Camilo “Loloy” P. Alcomendras from Mindanao came to Manila alone, uncertain as to where God would lead him. From Mindanao, he set out, leaving behind his precious loved ones, friends and fellow Christians. He just came to study computer and nothing more, but the Lord had prepared something more for him. With the Spirit leading him on, he went around 10th Avenue, Caloocan City trying to find a place to stay, and he did found it which he considers his second home and ministry: the SEEDS OF YEHOSHUAH FULL-GOSPEL MINISTRIES, INC. Pastor Loloy which we fondly call him is a licensed Minister of the Assemblies of God. He was a graduate of Bible Theology, Music & Christian Education course at the Immanuel Bible Institute, Banawa, Cebu City on March 9, 1976 and also a Far East Asia Theological Seminary graduate of Biblical Studies. With the help of Pastor Loloy, he held series of trainings and seminars to prepare the workers for larger opportunities in the ministry. Pastor Camilo married Sis. Gina and later joined his wife in the United States in 1986. They were blessed with three children: Noelle, Neil and Stefanie.
In 1986, a young lady, who was a student at Bethel Bible College trained under Pastor Loy for a transition on the leadership of SEEDS. Rev. Rose Tatlongmaria (now viuda de Manulid), a resident of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, unselfishly pursued the calling of the Lord. Together with the devout men & women of Seeds, the work of the Lord flourished under Pastora Rose. In 1997, the name of the church Seeds of Yehoshuah Full Gospel Ministries,Inc. was changed to Seeds of Jesus Full Gospel Church, Inc. in a unanimous decision made by the membership to avoid being misrepresented as a cult. (SEC Reg. No. A1997-21300). The fellowship that was conducted in the Landingin’s residence was officially transferred and rented a building along 10th Ave., Caloocan City. A leap of faith was exercised by the membership and trusted God to provide for the needs of the church to become financially responsible. It was also during this time that the church, being independent, affiliated to the Philippine General Council of the Assembly of God (PGCAG) thru the Southern Tagalog District Council of the Assemblies of God (STDC,A/G). Another outreach stilwas established in Brgy. Baculud, Iguig, Cagayan Valley, when Ptra. Rose and some of the young people at SOJ mother church went there for a mission trip. Ptra. Rose brought Ptr. Russell Amandy, in Cagayan Valley, who at that time a newly graduate of AGSOM Cainta and he took the challenge to pioneer the church there. He pastored the church for 3 years and after that Ptr. Russell gave the baton to Ptr. Rodolfo Bosi, one of the founding members at Iguig and he took the challenge and accepted the call of God to serve the flock.
Ptr. Rodolfo Bosi is a bachelor degree holder of Civil Engineering and he is married to Sis. Belen Bosi and they were blessed to have 7 children. Aside from Cagayan, there were also two other outreaches that were established that only lasted for a short period of time at Bancal Extension and Yama in Meycauan, Bulacan. Rev. Rose got married in 1999 and joined her husband in Davao leaving us thirteen (13) years of fruitful service. Rev. Rose is now a widow.
In 1999, a young man who was one of the founding members and an elder of the church was later on elected as the Senior Pastor by the name of Bro. Joseph Ferdie Modesto (married to Olive Panganiban Modesto and blessed with four wonderful kids, Danelle Rein, Elizabeth, Rebekah & Angelo Gabriel).
The Lord created more faith in the hearts of the people, the long and much waited answer to prayer request to build their own sanctuary has been granted. For almost two decades of groaning and prevailing prayers, year 2000, the Lord built a House of God in San Diego Street, Arkong Bato, Valenzuela City.
At this time, after a long preparation of prayer and hardship, another local church was officially established on April 2000 at FVR Compound, Norzagaray, Bulacan. Ptr. Fernando Solidum became the pastor and served the SOJ Norzagaray up to March 2008. Then came Ptr Raffy Pumaren and at present, it is being pastored by Ptr. Ronn Romano, with the help of the Church Council in Norzagaray.
In March 2003 Ptr. Joseph Modesto joined his wife Sis. Olive Modesto in Texas and entrusted the ministry to Rev. Reynaldo G. Fernando, a dedicated servant of God and an ordained minister of the Southern Tagalog District Council of the Assemblies of God (STDC-AG). He is married to Sis. Lani Fernando and they were blessed with a son named Josiah David. He graduated in Bethel Bible College – Bachelor in Christian Ministry major in Biblical Studies in 1990 and finished his Masteral Studies (M.A. in Ministry) at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary last April 2009. A former Sunday School Superintendent, CE Dept. Director, Section 1 Asst. Presbyter of STDC-A/G. Presently, he is serving as the STDC Secretary. His leadership and faithfulness in serving the Lord makes the church more eager in fulfilling God’s mission
It was year 2014 when a church was adopted in San Miguel Island, Tabaco City, Albay, headed by Ptr. Alvin Alis.
As the Seeds of Jesus Family continue to fulfill the Great Commission, HE Who is the Sower of the Word in our hearts will also empower us to grow until we meet HIM face to face. Glory to GOD!
